Unfortunately, in this
day and age, we need to print things like this, so here it is.
- Skate at your own risk
FunRoll.com is an information site only and cannot be responsible for the personal safety
of each skater during any of the group skates it promotes. Each skater IS PERSONALLY
RESPONSIBLE for his or her own safety, and for understanding the rules and guidelines of
the road and boardwalk. Safety gear, such as helmets, knee pads, elbow pads and wrist
guards are strongly recommended.
- Be courteous
We share the boardwalk with pedestrians, joggers, bicyclists and other skaters. Let
make sure we set a good example to the other groups.
- Skate Smart
In-line skating, like any motion sport, involves a risk of serious injury. Don't
skate beyond your ability. Make sure you know how to control your speed before
attempting to go down hills, even small hills. Take a lesson. Learn to use the brake. If your skate does
not have a brake, learn other means of slowing down. In-line skate brakes are
designed to slow a skater down, not stop on a dime. Anticipate dangers before they
happen and react accordingly.
